Skydance Paramount Plans to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – News
Skydance Paramount plans to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, as the firm intending to reveal complete information during its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.
Earlier reports had indicated the company planned to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.
