Two Individuals Charged for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder following the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after admitting a string of sex offences among them the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
